Ford Gives Up Order

Company ordered 5 - Ford F550 diesel truck cab /chassis last July - - - wanted to get them before new emissions system was required - - - - Well long story, short got a letter from Ford the first of December telling us the order was canceled by Ford - - claimed they couldn't get engines from supplier ! ! !



Is this but another sign that Ford is in deep doo doo, and maybe they can't afford the warrantee costs for the 6l.



Hope maybe we'll order something else.

2008 Model Year?

I just read an add for the new Ford pickups. 2008 model year F450 SUPER DUTY. All new Powerstroke Diesel. It sounded like this is the best thing since the electric light.



Another thing that I see is the add for the new Dodge Ram. They all advertise different hp rates. Three different ratse are mentioned. I can't recall what they are.

Well, since Navistar/International is the engine supplier, and the 6. 0l was EOL as a whole by Navistar, not to mention Navistar being in a whole heap of financial trouble (See https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173309 ) a lot of Ford based fleets will have a big problem getting replacement engines and parts in the very near future. Some of our customers are already seeing the effects as our Ford dealer simply cannot get certain parts at any cost anymore. I'm sure this fiasco won't end well.

could be ford is wanting the trucks to have the 6. 4 in them,instead of the 6. 0 . could be they are between engines so to speak.
