np,the resale value is going to be lower on a ford 6. 9 because the engine was dropped[redesigned]two years before the dodge cummins hit the market. naturally a equally equipped, same condition, competetors truck that is two years newer, will fetch a little better price. also, many people buy older dodges with cummins engines in them simply to get the engine for repower projects in equipment, many times its cheaper to do this than to buy a used engine at a salvage yard, and not even hear it run. the same applies for powerstroke engines. as for 1000hp engines ,i could care less which if any of the big threes engines could hit that mark. i have not seen a 1000hp commonrail cummins yet,but that didnt stop me from buying one a month ago. i will say this, wether it be 1/4 mile raceing or top end highway raceing empty or loaded,if i want tops in stock performance without mods,i would have bought a new powerstroke. [ask me how i know]. instead i chose the more reliable cummins over the new 6. 0 ford. if the 7. 3 was still on the table, the possibility of adding another ford to my fleet would have been a very good one. the more i learned about 7. 3 powerstrokes the more i loved them! the more i learned about 6. 0 engines, the more i figured it was time to give dodge another try...
