Earth Roamer in John Day/Canyon City...

:rolleyes:
My poor FoMoCo is in serious trouble. You guys might make fun of me, but I seriously got really PO'ed reading that article. How in the hell is programming the computer going to keep the injectors from leaking and the turbo shaft from cracking? I love my Ford's, I always will, but it is truly sad what has happened to my beloved Ford trucks. :{

You guys gotta go to the forums on Ford Truck Enthusiasts and read what some of those poor FORD guys are saying. I've never laughed so hard. At least they've got a sense of humor about it. But there are a few die-hards who refuse to admit any problems... They are pretty funny too... :-laf

I actually feel sorry for them... no joke.

I'm not sure if anyone else has thought about this but as a i was getting fuel the other day a brand new f450 ambulance was next to me getting fuel and i could help but worry that some day my life or anyones life maybe relying on a 6. 0 or 6. 4 to get them the help they need to stay alive. its a scary thought.

Actually, the little venturis cut in the exhaust tip on the Ferd probably make the flames worse ala air/fuel torch design!

Oh yeah, friend of mine just traded his 06 250 for an 08 250! Gotta love it!

It's not going to fix the problem. It will only shut down the engine because the particulate temp is too high. Seems like that could happen from pulling hard in the mountains.

new ford

I`ll make sure when I see a 08 SD to be on the left side...

sound like my old fairbanks-morse hit and miss engine. :confused:

link got taken down?:confused:

Chalk up one other thing learned on the TDR... ... ...

. . Run like hell when you are at a gas station and a 6. 4 liter Ford drives in to fuel up. :eek: :eek:

Yeah I realize that, my comment was more tongue in cheek then actually asking a question.

I like this part from the article:

"The automaker will have dealers upgrade software for the powertrain control module, which will power down the engine under higher-than-expected temperatures in the diesel particulate filter. "

So they are not going to fix the problem, just program it to die when it sees high particulate temps. LMFAO! Maybe Navistar should have just quit for good, and Ford should go talk to CAT or something. Ford finally figured out how to keep CTD owners from passing them. We don't want our trucks set on fire, so stay back! LOL

That's kind of like closing the gate after the horse has escaped!
