Cold weather oil in warm weather??

Why don't diesels make heat at idle?

This is in reference where the 6L Powerstroke Ford and the Duramax Chevy are dragging against one another pulling a trailer.

In this commercial, it states that the Powerstroke pickups are the most powerful diesel pickups on the road.

Chevy updated their "right truck" duramax commercial to say that the Duramax now has 590 pound feet or torque and does not even take claim to this title.

Has Ford updated the 6L to beat the power levels of the Cummins 600 and the 590 Duramax or are they still wrongly running an old commercial?

Remember the key word. "In Its Class". Because Cummins is a medium duty class engine. The Strokes and Max's are light duty motors. Can't have false advertising now can we?:D

They did not state "in its class" for motors. "... most powerful diesel PICKUP in its class" was the phrase used. So they are claiming they have the most powerful diesel pickup, not just their engine.

Either way though, the new Duramax is light duty and still more powerful.

Not cutting down ANY one of the engines... just wondering about the content of the commercial.

They stated the most powerfull diesel in its class. If not then they changed it or something.

I didn't know maxes had more power?

the thread with the ford tonka thing truck claimed 6. 0l psd with 350 hp & 600 tq. that must be the new numbers that ford is shooting for..... good luck.

Ok, FoMoCo hasnt gotten all the bugs worked out of its new and improved 6. 0, then it wants to add 25 hp and 50lb-ft? Sounds like a kamikazi mission to me.

I've never been to impressed with the 7. 3 PSDs I drove, empty or hauling. THe 7. 3s were an ok engine for pulling light duty (<10K), but after driving a (lightly) BOMBed 1st Gen, even, there aint no comparison. Cummins will walk up a hill from a V8, period. Only caveat is manual to manual, as I refuse to own another auto.
