Well now that i have your attention, hahaha j/k. But really my buddy is pretty heart set that ford owns cummins and dodge only built the mega cab because that contract ended. Now I want to send him the page off of the cummins website that says ford has nothing to do with cummins. I can't seem to find it or if its even there. Can anyone give me that exact website page so i can send it to him or is there another site that i can send him to tell him. Thanks.

well he for some reason thinks that ford had the right to have the biggest 4 door until now and it just now hit me that even if ford owned cummins that ford would have no right to reserve having the biggest cab. Stupid on my part i should have said something about that to him, oh well next time i will.

Ford at one time had 10 percent of Cummings stock But

Cummings had a agreement and bought the stock back and that where the rumor started I think. I do believe If Dodge had not had Cummings as a options the dodge truck would have went down the drain and no more History. A super wise move. Now Dodge use to have a large percent of the Class C motor Home market and lost It to Ford Why??? With the Cummings they could get that percent back and more like Rescue services,Tow Trucks,ect. They are sleeping a bit I would say. :-{}

Dont worry, I think this is going to change here in the next model year. Its sounds like its solid that a class C truck WILL be offered by dodge for the 2007 model year, and I cant wait to see what it looks like and the options. Someone needs to kick ol' blue and the bow tie in the nutz in this area, and I pray Dodge finally will.

this is my favorite thread . there is always someone out there that wants a ford to have a real diesel. that's why owning cummins is a must. :D :D

Wishful thinking :rolleyes: And NOBODY has any "rights" to the biggest cab, or any such nonsense. Where on earth did that notion come from? This was a free market last I checked and if Ford wants to out mega the megacab they are free to do so. It wouldn't help them though because the 6. 0 powerstroke is a huge failure. I really chuckle when I see people STILL buying them. Even IF Ford owned Cummins, DC has a contract with Cummins for engines. Things like that happen all the time. It certainly wouldn't mean that Ford would get our engine and Dodge would lose it.

Here's what you might consider doing instead of telling him the truth. Go tell him that you did a bunch of research and it turns out that he's completely correct - Ford owns Cummins. Furthermore, you were amazed to discover that the Cummins B5. 9 engine that's in the Dodge trucks is available in the F-650 and F-750 trucks as an option. Then inform him that the reason the B5. 9 is not available in the F-250/350/450/550 is because those trucks frames are not nearly strong enough to handle the torque or weight of the B5. 9, and only Dodge's 2500 and 3500 frames, being as strong as an F-650 and F-750 can handle the enormity of the B5. 9 engine. Tell him that's why Dodge doesn't offer any 4500/5500/6500/7500 series trucks - the 2500s and 3500s are already strong enough to be in that class.

If he's gullible enough to believe the Ford owns Cummins myth, chances are he'll believe that load of crap. And if he doesn't, the hours of research he pours into trying to refute it will almost certainly reveal to him the fallacy of the Ford owns Cummins myth.

P. S. - lying like that is kind of mean spirited, but could be humorous anyway. ;)

Ford, GM and Dodge Is asleep In some areas

First Ford needs a Diesel that get a lot better fuel mileage. Cummings would be a Improvement even added as a option. GM Is In the same boat and there automatic trans for the diesel Is not as strong as they claim but could be If they would let Allision build the transmission and stay out of It. Now Dodge needs a stronger frame and be adaptable for class c motor homes and emergency vehicles also big market out there. Dodge needs a truck bigger then the one ton packing the Cummings. Maybe I am dreaming. Now what other Inprovement can you think of. Dodge bring back the club cab as a option also. All 3 need a automatic trans. that bullet proof. What about a exhaust brake or Jake brake as a option? There lots of room for Improvment for all 3.

Actually, a very "informed" Ford owner I spoke with at the pump on Friday told me all about how his new Excursion (which he got after they bought back his 2003 F-350 6. 0 that grenaded itself repeatedly) gets 24 mpg! Also, all the problems with the 6. 0 have been fixed and it's a bulletproof engine now. No one is having any trouble with them. :rolleyes:

I smiled and wished him well.

P. S. - I bet misspellings and mispronunciations of his name drove Cummins to an early grave.

No offense intended, but for God's Sakes...

Cummins is the name of our Engine...

Cummings is a place in Georgia where you can find Geno's Garage!!!!!!!

If you're going to talk about a Cummins product you could at least learn how to spell it.
