I hope that this is the proper forum for this question:

Does anyone know whether it's true that the editor of the TDR, Robert Patton, also produces a similar publication for owners of the Ford Power Stroke ?

If so, what is the name of the magazine and does it have a web site like we do ?

Power Stroke Registry

I know the answer.

Neither the TDR nor Robert Patton produces (or is affiliated with) a magazine for owners of the Ford Powerstroke.

There is such a magazine, however. It is owned by Bill Staib and his offices are located in Carrollton, GA. That magazine has been around about 3 - 4 years. The owner used to produce a magazine for owners of the Ford Taurus SHO.

Here is a link to the PSR website: http://www.powerstrokeregistry.com/.

I don't have their telephone number with me at home, but I'll try to remember to post it for you when I get into the office this morning.

Hope this helps.

Robin,

Thanks for quick reply. It's interesting to note the similarities between the PowerStrokeRegistry and TDR, even their sharing GA as a home state. It was for that reason that I thought that there was a relationship between the two.

Thanks,

Similarities

Well, there is a pretty good reason for the similarities.

When the TDR was formed almost 10 years ago, Bill Staib was in partnership with Robert and me. After the first 90 days, he asked to be bought out, which we did. He then continued to focus on his SHO magazine. Robert and I continued to build the TDR. And interestingly enough, we all remained friends.

We found an excellent, and affordable, artist in New Hampshire - Bob Cavallino. We shared his name with Bill. Unfortunately, when Bob designed the PSR's logo, it looked way too much like the TDR's logo. We talked to the artist about our concerns, but didn't feel like it was worth making a major issue out of it. Since then, Bill has helped us reduce costs and improve efficiencies in our operation as he finds better ways to do things. He tends to be very good at finding affordable ways to get things done (especially processing-type activities). I probably talk to him 1 - 2 times per year, and he almost always shares a tip or shortcut or new software find with me.

So we share contacts, leads, etc. But no common ownership, operation, etc.
