Braking Horsepower?

A couple buddies of mine both have '01 F250 PS, 4x4's, both are autos and 100% stock. One of them gets 18-20 MPG, and the other only gets 13-15. The later had his turbo replaced in Vegas last year after it imploded pulling a 5er over Eisenhower, and the tech said that he bumped his boost pressure to 16psi when all was finished.

What are the specs for the 7. 3 boost levels? Anything in particular to check for, like our IAT? The truck has plenty of power, just really crappy mileage.

I really don't want to join a Ford site to get these answers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Aw, go on and join a Ford site. It's fun to listen to their problems. Plus you'll probably get better Ford answers there versus solutions like "tell him to sell the Ford and buy a real truck, a Dodge CTD, that'll fix the problem".

HELL NO!

I don't have a VIN number to give them, I don't want to be called a troll, or referred to as the "FNG" with no posts to his record and reporting a problem with their cherished power-joke.

I am on my slow stealthy way to show him, hands on, the benefits. All I need is some DD1's and an EZ. He just drove mine for a bit today, agrees that it will be great for towing, but his V8 will still run away from me in the hills.

I throw in $800 - $1000 in mods, and I should be faster, stronger and $12k cheaper than his. I just want to help him figure out this mileage thing.
