my ctd is a 1999 3500 , with a dana 60 front axle 4 wheel drive, with abs , has any one heard of changing the front hubs from a ford f350 and putting them on dodge dana 60s . i want to do this conversion so that i can better handle the maintanance of the hub bearings etc. also manually locking the front hubs probable would save fuel. ??? any info would be appreciated ,thanks

From what I hear just swapping out the parts won't work! What I have heard guys doing is taking an older King Pin style Ford D60 and cutting the brackets off there Dodge D60 and welding them back onto the Ford axle. There are a few guys that have done this on Pavementsucks. Com Search over there and have a look! I wish I would have done this exact same thing on my 4x4 conversion instead of using the Dodge60.

Good luck with what ever you do... Ryan

the ford has a metric bolt pattern that doesnt match our 8 x 6. 5" bolt pattern. you will have to get two new rims in the 8 x 160mm pattern. I ran into this 5 years ago when i went from my dodge to ford powerjoke. glad to be back now to dodge. should have never left.

NOt the pre 1997 fords.

correct from 98 back they are 8 x 6. 5" but you are going to have to change the knuckles (they are different). I dont recall if the ball joint taper is the same. double check part numbers before investing in complete knuckles.

Hubs

I you want to put a set of hubs on your truck. Dynatrac has a complete kit and axles for the Dodge. I have them on my truck with 0 problems, going on 2 years. Sam :)
