If I ever buy another diesel truck, AND Ford starts putting the cummins in the F350, I'll buy the ford. . but only. . if its got a cummins. I love my dodge though!

What the hell was I smokin'????

Ignore my last post. Just finished installing a hitch in an '05 Ford. I forgot how much of a PITA them POS's are. There are not enough swear words in my vocabulary to describe what Ford has done to them things, and I swear like a sailor. I need more beer to calm down after putting up with that crap. NEVER BUY A FORD NEVER BUY A FORD NEVER BUY A FORD. AAAAHHHHHH, that felt good.

Did I mention the ugly butt interior, and this was an XLT?? (2) 90* bends in the exhaust (gasser, but PSD are the same). Conduit and brake lines everywhere. Oo. Oo. Oo. Then there's that $%%@ door dinger than won't shut the *bleep* up!!!!!!!!! Heat shields???? What the bleepity bleep bleep for??? Anybody know what possible reason there could be to have a special key for the spare tire hanger. Not a lock, just a special phallic end for the jack handle, ya know, just so some engineer wannabe had something to do after lunch You should have seen us a few months ago trying to figure that one out. They put the ^%^ @^%$# %^$#^ key in the glove compartment, not with the jack handles. %$% $##$^ #$##^!!!!!

And people wonder why I never even test drove/priced a PSD before I bought my cummins.

Around here anyway ... ... ...

The only way to get anything similar to the Harley "lo five" is to drive a Cummins.

The Dodge boys love their trucks around here ... ... ..... 1st, 2nd 3rd gen it don't matter, these ole boys just laugh at the Powerstrokes and Duramaxes.

I ride a Victory but I try to wave to everybody. I've started doing it to other Dodges, kinda by accident. Didn't realize I was doing it at first. Now it's kinda funny looking at people trying to recognize me. Afterall, who waves at strangers?

I do wave at Fords, just with a few less fingers :-laf

If Ford could get the Cummins in their pickups, would you still buy the Dodge???

I would still buy a Dodge because I will never again buy another Furd. Had one, been there, done that. :-laf

So I've no axe to grind against Dodge per say, but from my view - overall the 05 Ford 6. 0 is a better package [especially when you use the torqshift] then the 3rd gen dodge.

:-laf :-laf Now that there is funny :-laf :-laf Especially the part about the Torqshift :-laf :-laf

Why don't you take your trash talk about the frames cracking and come back when you have some proof :p

Listen UP KBennett, I don't trash talk - so go suck some eggs eh?

The frame issue is documented with DC and authorized upfitters, so before you run off at your flap, check out the truth. It is in other posts / take some time to seek the truth before confirming you are an idiot.

I offered only a opinion on the Torqshift versus the old 48Re, the 727 was a good transmission in its day, behind a gasser, but DC has missed the boat. I had a 2002 3500 with the auto, and a Cummins, great truck except for the transmission.

Have you tried the Torqshift, especially when towing heavy loads? Impressive.

Have a great day

Well about frame cracking. I for one would like to read about this. Any links etc? All I keep reading about torqshifts is recalls and about how the braking feature is lost with the 200 jillon reflashes that Ford has come out with. Does the braking feature WORK as designed on the 05 Fords? if not for the Dodge I would have bought a Duramax. i just had a hard time with the Chevy cause its so damn ugly after 02. The Fords besides well LOOKING like a Ford just TOO many PROBLEMS. From Hubs to leaks to Romps and the list goes on and on. Plus the S. D. is just TOO DAMN BIG for my taste. I actually LIKE the size of my 4 Door Dodge.

You don't?

Hmm, 280,000 Fords with Powerstrokes in 2004 versus 140,000 Cummins HD Rams,

Who is 2x the sales of the others. And which truck can get a service body installed without concerns of cracking the frame.

L

I would surely hope so. Ford sells twice as many trucks therefore, it's perfectly logical to expect them to sell twice as many diesels. Now, let's look at the 2004 numbers in a different way:

Ford - 939,511 trucks, 280,000 PSDs, equals 29. 8 percent PSD powered

Dodge - 426,289 trucks, 140,000 Cummins (previous figures I've seen was 154,000), equals 32. 8 percent Cummins powered.

And everyone thought the Powerchoke was the best selling diesel. Figure in the fact that 63% of Superduties are PSD powered and 70% of Dodge Heavy Duties are Cummins powered and that means Dodge sells more Cummins per 100 vehicles than Ford does PSD. Also, if I remember correctly, Ford was selling in the low-to-mid 300,000 PSDs in prior years. Only 280,000 PSDs last year can't be good for Ford. Cummins is projecting about 175,000 engines for 2005 and the addition of the MegaCab this fall will definitely cut into Ford sales.

No, I'm not a rocket scientist.

PS. Have you found any pictures of the supposed frame cracks? Didn't think so.
