During deceleration, High pressure nitrogen gas is compressed.



OK, how much gas? It says 5,000 PSI. OK,, I'm picturing this.



A Guy, friving home from work, a little tired, Let's his mind drift a second,, then focusing back on the road,, he has to SLAM on the brakes,, OK,, Now you have this 5,000 PSI BOMB underneath your 8,000 pound vehicle. You are probably gonna smack something hard,, You've put the brake pedal to the floor. Bam, you hit something,, That 5,000 PSI Bomb better be in a good place not to Blow up.



Just my quick two pennies. Otherwise it sounds purty cool.

But just more clutches and stuff to wear out.

SOUNDS like a good concept... . but to many more things to go wrong and break.

I wouldn't be too concerned about high pressure nitrogen. Most of us with gas shocks are driving around with nitrogen under high pressure already.

The concept is great, being able to turn braking energy into accel energy.

I looks REALLY COOL and gets better mileage.



I can see it now. . skidding from 60->0 at the tree for the QTR mile strip trying to load up the nitrogen. :-laf:-laf



it'd sure be fun stopligh to stoplight.

here is a simpler system, have a big bungee cord tied to the rear bumper of a VW TDI, when you stop let the VW keep going till the cord is tight then stop and hold the brakes. Then you start using "bungee assist", when you are almost ready to run over the VW have him hit the fuel. Repeat at each stop.



Oh never mind, I read the rest of the article, Ford had already tried it They said it was too simple
