I could have got. 462 for same price, by the way they came off price from 1189.00 to 980.00, but the 462 has elctronic fuel control, didn't want to mess with that out in the field, Didn't want it to go into regeneration... Just kidding

Bought my first saw, a Husqvarna 162SE, in 1982. Been hooked on the brand ever since...

All the guys in the business I’ve talked to who own one love the new 462. They say once you learn the starting drill it’s a real snappy saw. I run Jonsereds because the best dealer within 100 miles of me sells them and Husqvarna. If he sold Stihl, that’s what I’d be running. All the top 3 are fine. When you make your living in the woods it’s parts and service that make the difference. I’m not the least bit afraid of the computer tuned saws. Better fuel economy and a near perfect fuel mixture at any temp and humidity. My next saw will probably be a 572 Husky.

The stihl dealer told me 462s were great and i had used one back in Oct , but if electric computer carb messes up...he said its BIG bucks to fix or replace

If is the key word. Kinda like IF your ecm fails it’s big bucks. In all the years and miles of driving, how many ECMs have you had fail. I haven’t heard of one failing in a 462 yet. That includes all the logging/ arborists websites I belong to.

It definitely would be nice to own a saw that ran perfect in all temps. My 460 runs well regardless but there is definitely a difference between running it now in 10 degree weather vs 95 with near 100% humidity.

Of course I'm a casual at best that only has to cut enough wood to heat one home with in the winter so the summer cutting months are virtually non-existent. Work smarter not harder
