It's what you have to get for your wife when she find out how much money you spent on your truck... .



Seriously, a girdle is a reinforcement for the mean bearing caps over the crankshaft. It keeps the bearings supports in the block from deflecting under load. Think of it as a subframe connector for the bottom end of the engine... .
