I think everone needs to loose the thing about our last names. There is nothing you can do about hiding your idenity. If you're driving a vehicle with a license plate and a valid drivers license everyone has your number and knows where you are. You can't hide. The DMV's are public information.

I agree with Crazy Horse. I (along with Evan Beck, Rob Hanson, and many others) have used my real name since the early days of Rob Spading's Turbo Diesel Website, and I have yet to be abducted by aliens, run down by the Gestapo, or turned away from a Dodge dealer who says, "We know who you are".

I find it kind of ironic that so many are so protective of their names, but yet every now and then you'll see someone post a reply that says, "... you can call me on my cell phone at xxx-xxx-xxxx. "

'nuff said.

Andy Perreault, that's P-E-R-R-E-A-U-L-T, in (actually just outside of) Granite Falls, Washington.

So, when's the next NW BOMBers party, anyway?

Ed Anderson,

I liked your user name better!

Shovlehead is unique not that the person behind the real name isn't. Wouldn't be a nickname?

I agree last name no big deal I usually use my signature on first reply anyway an it contains my name.

Real men use real names! :p :p :p

Right Pete? and Bob? Ed?

The only one who has an appropriate handle in my opinion is Big Bob. You see, I've met Big Bob, and, well, he's a Big Bob!

Andy

(hope you're not offended, Big Bob, just having fun! ;) )

Yep. . used my real name since the old site of Rob Spading's. I have nothing to hide...

Speaking of "Big Bob", if he chose that name cause of the way he looked(big!), then he ought to name his wife "WooHoo Kathy". She is a real sweetie.

I have posted my phone numbers, address, and posted pics of my license plates. If anyone wants to find me or stuff about me, come on over and I'll tell ya whatever you want to know!

Not in all states are the DMV's open to the public. Many states require one to show cause, as defined, before the information is given.

But the main point, I think, is that those of us who CHOOSE to use our full names may do so.

Thos of us who choose NOT to, should also have that option.

License plate registered to a New Mexico LLC. NM LLC's membership information is NOT public. Vehicle registration address is a mail box. There ARE things you can do to hide your identity. Thinking that you're helpless in the face of this country's attempts to strip us of our privacy is an error.

If any one cares about personal safety/privacy, I highly recommend reading "How To Be Invisible" by J. J. Luna.
