I liked him. He was our congressman when I lived in MI in the 70's. He was the only president that was ever elected to office by a single district. I have a personally autographed picture that I took of him. RIP, he was a good man.

There are also a lot of poeple that owe him for the homes that he helped to build with "Homes for Humanity" (sp)

I met him while he was president- always had a pipe. Very thoughtful guy, he could get very impatient very fast but overall levelheaded with a gentle sense of humor.

I was sorry to hear he passed away. I never met him but I did get to attend a speech he gave in Seattle in 1986 I think it was.
