More changes?

Hello out their

I am not receiving email notifications again. I have checked my setting and they are set to instant email notification.

It looks on this end like they are getting through to your ISP. I sent you a pm with the log entries of a message sent to you today and some suggestions.

Thanks Steve. Found the issue at my ISP using your suggestions. Thanks again for all the work you do. It is greatly appreciated!

Hi Steve. Just wondering if all the pictures we used to have with our profiles are still a work in progress within the website update? or should we be uploading new pictures to our profile. I notice that we have a pictures tab when you click on someone's name, but mine is empty.

Hey Steve, I haven't checked in for a while about this. Any progress on being able to filter out certain forums such as ones with political topics?

Not yet on you being able to select which to eliminate by default. I did remove the political forum out of the view new posts and view last days posts searches some time ago - so you shouldn't be seeing them in those. On the regular searches you can specify the forums you want to see right on the search page - although you'd have to do that on each individual search for now. Currently I'm working on integrating the login on the rest of the site pages outside of the forums and then I'll be able to update the rest of those pages with the new look - then the default search forums is next on the list.

"Subscriptions" in my profile doesn't seem to work. All I get is the list of posts in the last thread I posted to.

I have a strong dislike for this new software. I often try to edit something I've written after I read it and see typos or bad grammar. Editing is usually difficult and sometimes not possible.

Yesterday I could not edit any of my posts, the edit box would open but there was no text in it. Tried several times to no avail.

Also very sensitive, super easy to duplicate a post.

Hey Steve,

The first page of my thread linking to TDR site hosted pics is no longer showing the pictures, just the link URL.

Example: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...cs-and-history

Has anything changed? How to fix this? Were the pictures relocated within the server?

Also, not sure if a similar issue Steve, but I have found the site very slow to respond to submit posts, open threads, get from home page to forums, etc.

Thanks for your time!

Robert

I have problems Dailey. Trying to get from subject to post. I have to leave TDR all together and open it up again. Last happened yesterday at 6:40 PM.

Hey!! There are lots of forums out there, and they all have problems. Steve is busy trying to keep this forum virus free and working on the bugs at the same time. He does the best he can. If you don't like the format, don't blame him, as the only reason he even HAS to work on the site is because it's CONSTANTLY under attack from hackers, malware, and general A-hole cyber bullies on the internet, just trying to cause problems. He and the TDR staff don't just work on it on thier personal whims, as it cost everyone time and money. The old code on the old site just simply wasn't adequate to communicate with today's new software and still prevent cyber attacks. The simple amount of code needed to interface with humans alone is staggering, let alone the coded programs to function over the internet on multiple operation systems available to the market... ... I'm sure he'll be along to work on it when he can. TDR is not his only client... . Sorry you guys are frustrated, there are some things I don't really like about it, either, but try to see it from his point of view for a second... .

And it may not be under his control, maybe it is the host server that is freaking out as well.

I know simply trying to keep our systems for 5 locations up and running is a huge undertaking, last month we finally had to hire a full time IT guy (I call him "Geek Squad"!) as three of us were carrying the IT load and trying to do our real jobs as well.

I can't even begin to imagine the challenges of maintaining this TDR animal.

I think it has been better this week BTW.

Yo Hoot

I understand what you are saying and all, but I do have to agree with Mwilson and HH. As much as it is frustrating to not have ones thread working, and also difficulties posting; sometimes there is much more going on in the background than we know. Running a site this size is a huge undertaking and all so we must be mindful. And one never knows what is going on in Steve's life either...
