Well, I added to the fleet. A 98 got traded at work and I picked it up. Quite a neat rig, 2500 4X4, Quad Cab, short box, auto w/4. 10s. 9 ft Boss V-Plow and 3" suspension lift, Banks hi-ram and cat back exhaust, boost and egt guages. The thing drives great, I was kinda skeptical of the lift. Seems to be quite gutless and I'm not impressed with 14 mpg. But that's ok, now I get to "fix" it.

It's my wifes daily driver (she says "More Power") and I'll plow with it ( if it ever snows up here).

Thanks to this great group of people at the TDR, I have my list ready to start work on.

Happy new year,

Wayne

Good luck with the 98. I love mine. Bought it gauges for Christmas. Maybe a torque plate for Valentines Day! Haven't decided on the #10 and 3K GSK or the #6 like I have in the 95. Pulling the fiver back from the beach today, it would turn 2800 in drive pulling the fiver. That puts me above 65mph in drive. It is making about 17#'s boost at max. The plate definitely puts the guts back in one. Won't be quite the same as an '01 bombed though.

Your going to have fun...

Good for you Wayne!

I would guess those poor MPGs will be easily fixed by timing and tweaking the Plate/AFC.

If it works out, bring that thing to Mikes on the 17th. You will have more free advice then you can handle.

Wayne;

You're going to need a -03 or -04 to round out that growing stable. .

14 mpg with a 3" lift and a Boss air brake and a wife asking for more power sounds reasonable.

Bring the truck and wife on the 17th.

I'm curious the profile on that Banks plate.

I say a trany temp gauge is the first add if you want to continue plowing.

A few pump tweaks and a timing check are definitely in order, there is no pump/engine mods yet. Being the wife is driving it, I'm not going to go to wild. Just want to wake it up a little (or more) and get the mileage up where it should be.

I got a hold of the original owner that traded it and he said he has a set of 35" BFG's and wheels he used to run in the summer, probably will pick those up from him. That'll be enough tire for the misses. She's already rubbing it in that it's taller then the dually.

Should be able to make the Mike's gig on the 17th.

Thanks for the suggestions,

Later,

Wayne
