I stumbled onto an accessories sight and they have loads of accessories for our trucks. http://www.ustruckaccessorieswhse.com/

I even ordered some stainless nerf bars by "Steel Horse" the price was about $70. 00 cheaper than Westin platinum series. I didn't like the looks of the mounting brackets on the Westins(looked kinda cheap).

The "Raptor" brush guard by Steel Horse is one of the best looking ones I've ever seen and that will be on my next order.

If any of you know of a sight with cheaper prices let me know. With all the accessories that I want to buy, I need all the help I can get.

WOWZY... . David_VT has the Brush Guard on the classifieds. He & I ordered from an auction. He DOES nOT LIKE his. The problems are: it cuts thru the center of the factoy fogs (I live with it), shakes too much for him (I dont do off road and am satisfied with the construction/mounting - have pushed a "conex" box with it and didnt budge its mounts), I like the rubber cover on the uprights and the black finish. He is probably still trying to get rid of it, if your REALLY interested. Do a search on his name and brush guard to read his posts about Jan/feb era (open up your listing from last 20 days (default) to go back that far.

If you want to e-mail me about it - go ahead.

Ben,I went back to the U. S. truck sight and I see what you mean. Boy was that a dumb design and did you notice that they conveniently showed it on a truck that didn't have fog lights? Now I'll have to really think this one out. I do like it's looks but I dont know if it's worth hiding my fogs. I'm very grateful for your info.

If you like the looks of the Steel Horse, you might want to check out the Manik's. I have not ordered them yet as they are still working on the one's for the 2001 models(apparently the frame has changed just enough to require different mounting brackets). The fog lights will still remain functional in the forward direction but I believe that some side lighting is restricted.

I looked at a front bumper on a 2500 sport while surfing and that may be the answer because the fogs are positioned much farther outward.

Can anyone who owns a sport, tell me what the front bumper is made of? Is it painted steel or a plastic type material? If its steel,I'll have one chromed.

Ben you ole dog,
I've been trying to remember who helped me find that Steel horse deal... #ad
No hard feelings, it looked like a great deal.

I already promised that to someone for $0. I can't charge someone for something as poorly built as that is. By the time I get to ship it, if the person changes his mind (because I took too long), I'll offer it up again.

I am looking at the WARN winch mount and brush guard. Very sturdy.

As a rule, I advise anyone to stay away from the bolt together units unless you really plan to use if only for looks.

My biggest functionality ***** with the Steel Horse was the wobble rather than the light being blocked. If it was rock solid I could have mounted lights on it to make up for the foglights.

Still laying in the backyard (in bubblewrap) with the grass growing around it. Lesson learned!!

David_Vt,
When I got my truck, there did not seem to be a whole bunch of winchmount/bumpers available for it. (in state)I had used a Warn bumper before, and thought that their engineering/design dept. earned their money. On some of these later model ttucks, you just can't bolt up a couple of piece of channel and start welding.
Anywho, I wanted something that I knew would bolt up and work. One of the deciding factors about the Warn product(I believe it is called the transformer) was that the airbag would still be functional.
I keep hearing about how they save lives. After having been through several high speed accidents(and some low speed ones also), I kind of thought having the airbag still functional might be handy.
I still think a "swamp cow" might be a little more than it could handle though.
Anyway, just my opinion on the Warn bumpers I've owned( and the winches haven't been too shabby, either)
Joe

If I really wanted something indestructible for a grille guard, I would get an old Fisher Speedcast plow frame and do something custom with it. The newer minute mounts put most of the weight of the plow on the bottom of the frame and thus the light bar is pretty wimpy, but the older frames put alot of the weight on the upper section. Around here you can pick one up for next to nothing that already has driving lights mounted, all you need is new push plates to fit your truck. Then take the hydraulics off, a little sandblasting, and weld on a couple crossbars out of 2" square tube and you would have one bad ass mother of a grille guard. Maybe use some 1" black iron and bolt on for the brush guard part.

In lieu of that #ad
, the Warn looks to me to be the best unit available.

Am I off topic here? #ad
what I was going to say on the subject of online accessories is that if you are looking for mopar stuff, www.mopar4less has by far the best prices. I bought the foglamp kit in the mopar accessories book that sells for $180. mopar4less sold it to me for $110.
