Found an interesting deal on a new 2011..any significant changes in 2012

I found an interesting deal on a new 2011 that is set up exactly as I would want it with an acceptable color.



Is there any big difference between the 2011 and 2012 MY trucks that would be a deal killer or something that would make buying a new 2012 over a heavily discounted 2011 a consideration?

Well, if it's an early 2011 (like our truck), it's not a 350/800 HO, but a 350/650 rated 6. 7L. Having said that, our pore ole 2011 350/650 handles our 16K 5th wheel just fine. Also, the MaxTow package wasn't available on the early 2011s since it's tied to the availability of the HO. The 2012 integrated trailer brake controller (ITBC) has some enhancements not available on the 2011s - for instance, the ability to select the type of trailer brakes and the weight of the trailer (electric light, electric heavy, electric over hydraulic light, electric over hydraulic heavy). It's up to you to determine what (if anything) these differences are worth to you. In my case where the truck is primarily used for towing, while some of them would be nice to have, none of them make me want to trade.

I don't really need the max tow package. The one I'm looking at is the 350/650 but is rated to tow what I'm looking for.

If it'll handle what you're towing and the price is right, it's certainly worth considering. I have no complaints about the towing performance of ours handling a 16K GVWR 5th wheel. Ours (with the 4. 10s) gets around 10. 2 MPG towing and 16-17 MPG unloaded on the interstate.

I would think a guy could get a heck of a deal on an 11. I looked al over the country. When I saw a dodge place I tried to pull in and look. I had to order my truck as couldn't find what I wanted. If they found the equipment I didn't want the color.
