A week or so ago I reported that my CP3 was leaking. Well, my face is red and I feel stupid but I thought I would relate my findings so someone else isn't fooled by their own mistaken diagnosis.

I had changed my oil and filter and since I was already dirty and the truck had 11K on it, I decided to change the fuel filter too. After I changed the fuel filter I went underneath the truck to grease the front driveshaft and the tie rod ends. While I was greasing the tie rod ends I looked up to see fuel dripping from the CP3. :(

After that I cleaned up and wrote my CP3 Leak question on this forum.

The next morning I looked under the hood again and saw that the top of the CP3 was wet with fuel and the power steering pump was wet too.

It then dawned on me that when I changed the fuel filter I reached under the intake with my left hand and took out the still dripping old filter right over the top of the CP3. Duh... To be sure, I cleaned and dried the whole wet area and drove for a week. You guessed it, dry as a bone. :-laf

So call me stupid but at least I don't have a leak.
