Archived Found smaal crack

I am doing the KDP tabbing and my dowel was flush with case but it looks like there is a fine crack along the boss to the left of it. Am I OK or do I need to replace it?

If all your case bolts are in place, Id say its a casting mark.

Well I hope it was. I went ahead closed everything back up. Signal you could be right. It was definitely only surface anyway. Just a little nervous after hear the stories of the repair cost those things.

I was at our almost weekly TDR chapter meet on friday and was talking to one of our members who is on here. His Nephew went to tab his KDP and saw what you saw on the bottom of his timing case with an oil leak and figured it busted already. He went and bought a new case and everything to discover it was a casting mark, and the oil leak was one of the seals. Wouldnt sweat it.
