I recently purchased a red 96 reg. cab 3500 2wd 5 speed. I don't know what has been done to this truck but I've had many wins with it so far and have only had it about 3 weeks. I was driving home the other day and it has like 2% tint on all the windows so it's hard to see much, well the sun was coming through the back window and I saw where there used to be 2 very big stickers from relentless diesel performance & TDR. It also has holes in the bed where it used to have 5" stacks. I got the truck from Livingston, TX (about 45 mi. N. of houston) and I was wondering if I could run into any information on this truck. If anyone knows anything please PM me. Thanks

Give Chris Strickland a call at Rentless Diesel. 936-856-3121 If it had his sticker on it he may have done all the work on it and can give you a history. He's not very far from you if you live in Livingston.

did you get it from this guy? http://www.ironmanauto.com/ i got my truck from him in livingston, i found it on ebay and bought it after he pulled the auction for running problems, nice guy but must have a real goober for a wrench with all of the stupid stuff that was wrong with it

I sure did, his name is Rick Wagner. But, I just installed a boost, & pyrometer, and found something scary. I haul cattle during the week and loaded is anywhere between 20000-30000 lbs. Well after I put in the guages of course I had to go for a drive, pulling nothing, in 5th gear the EGT's pegged the guage at 1600. at about 45 psi. is this very common? this is my first 12v. so I don't know what to expect.

I wouldnt plan on towing much if your hitting 1600+ empty... .

Might look into a set of towing twins or a big single to cool that puppy down!

I bet it runs hard though!!

I would absolutely look into some towing twins if you're hitting 1600+ empty. That's dangerous. And towing that much, I don't know if even twins would cool it enough. You might want to look into some smaller sticks and maybe a different plate.

Just curious is that 20,000-30,000 a gross number, or is that what you tow plus the weight of the truck? These little Cummins engines never stop amazing me.

20-30 is load plus the trailer (32'x6'). I just hope I didn't damage too much yet because I've been working with it since the first day I got it. About 3-4 weeks ago. The reason I got it is because the transmission in my 03 was slipping in OD and the power steering went out and I still havn't figured out what that is yet.
