Injectors vs. performance box

bulldog vs. edge

was planning on adding water/meth... looks like next mods will be a different clutch and a fuel system

had a full tank of fuel w/ some cetane boost and some 2 stroke. Truck seemed to like that, I saw 1450* and climbing in 6th. Thinkin' a little extra gravity fuel feed gave me a little more juice?? truck felt good too :)

I generally don't rug it in 6th unless I'm showing 2,000rpm or more because it's awful smokey if I do :-laf but I was coming up on a flowersmoke and got lazy and just laid off in it at about 70mph. turbo smacked at about 1850rpm and pushed right through the clutch! :eek:

rolling into it or laying into it at higher RPM or even letting the turbo smack in lower gears = no slippage... for obvious reasons I haven't repeated the 6th gear low RPM rug! truck is still holding a hard 5-6 shift :D

gonna call Peter on Tues and see what he recomends... now if a fully splined/big input 5sp would fall in my lap so I can get rid of this 6sp when I do the clutch job, I'd be a happy camper! :{

I've slipped the holy mudfink out of my OFE a few times too. BUT I'm not pulling it out. It will hold anything I can throw at it in the first 5 gears--provided that I'm rolling. :-laf :-laf :-laf

Yeah, I got a real good and raunchy 3rd gear burnout one day. :cool: Then I tried it again a few hours later and WHOOPS, wrong kinda smoke. :eek: A week later it didn't smell so bad. :D

But like I said, the OFE still holds all reasonable requests. AND I'd rather it slip than shred itself--this is the old 12. 25 version. :eek: :eek:

Clutch plans: Sell 24v with OFE. Convert Auto to 4500/SBC DD. Reline Wife's FE to OFE. In roughly that order.

man, I blew up one 12. 25" OFE hub, never slipped once! but it was the first spring setup he used... he sent me a revised hub and it held up for another 25k or so... current owner burnt up the friction on it (you know who you are! LOL)

I've been romancing a sprung dual disk, but at this point I'm leaning towards maybe a 3850 6CB solid hub setup... My goal is to have a 4500/DD setup that shifts as quick or better than my 5600 OFE... if Peter rates that 3850 street for 750, I don't think I'll be able to afford to outgrow it... if he says 750, I'm betting I can stretch that to 800-850 w/ my driving style :-laf

but I'll see what he recomends

I'm gonna have this OFE re-lined and hook my buddy w/ it. He's got an ETH w/ Edge Juice/Attitude and he can't run it on the high settings :(

Wade

Did you install the 135A fuel pump yet :confused: :confused:

Is that the supply pump that was generously donated to the great RWHP claims debate and I never found time to actually do? Over there on a shelf somewhere. I'm not really fooling with 24's anymore... hardly have time to monitor the fluid leaks on the 2 12v's we're driving. :rolleyes: :eek:

I've tried to get some locals 24v guys to take over the project without much luck.
