AFE Magnum Force questions???

  does anyone have a number for fram?? just lost a motor due to there filters, looking for some answers from them. Calm down not in my ctd, motor was in my off-road car, but still cost enough. Was smart enough to not use frams on my ctd.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. Now you can preach to those around you about the evil of cheap filters made off shore and marketed by mass merchants.

Let us know how you come out on this deal.

Fram Phone Number

I'm not sure if this is still good but here ya go: 1-800-890-2075

Sorry to hear about your engine - Are you sure the filter toasted it ?

I've known three people who have lost engines due to Frams falling apart, no Cummins though.

All of them had no hassle whatsoever getting a new engine out of Fram, they were fast too.

frams

thanks for everybodys help. went to their website and sent them an email. sounds like they may help with the motor.

Let me know what they say, I lost oil pressure in my Jeep and the cause? A bad fram filter, the by-pass was plugged, caught it before total lock up, but not before a lifter collaspe or cam went flat, anyway she ticks on the top end now. I want to send the filter back to them, FULL.

I have a lot of experience building racing engines and I cannot stress enough to people, whom most don't believe it when I tell them, that FRAM FILTERS are total garbage.

I have seen more than a handfull of engines(at least 5) that have failed due to the filter plugging itself up and killing the oil pressure.

The problem mainly occures when the bypass is plugged, as is the case in most chevrolet engines, big and small block, for racing applications. When the filter plugs, the pressure goes away.

I had a Small block on the dyno, about a $30k engine, and the customer shows up with a fram filter... . told him I did not want to use it but he instisted it would be fine... .

Well, sure enough oil pressure went to 0 psi shortly into the break in. Had to yank the pan and check the bearings etc to be safe, everything was fine, just put a wix filter on and we were ready to rock...

Don't use fram filters.

Chris

WIX? They were the first to come apart and cause engine failure with some 1st generation Dodge/Cummins. I don't think I'd replace a Fram with a WIX. That's like marrying your ex-wife's sister.

Wix are actually pretty good.

Fram isn't the only filter that fails, Fleetguard had a bad batch in '96 with lots of reported failures.
