Frame carries vibration??

Has anyone else noticed this? This is my first Dodge, so I'm not sure exactly how they are supposed to "sound". I've noticed that when I've got my trailer hooked up, I can hear a thump right under my feet every time the trailer hits a bump. The noise has to be coming from the trailer since the truck doesn't do this unloaded. It's just a little weird since I can hear the noise coming from under my feet, and maybe a little in front of me. I figured the noise would come from the rear end of the truck.

Does your truck have the overload springs? My 01 did and with my camper hooked up it sat just above the bump stops for the springs. If i hit a pot hole the springs slapped the stops and that is exactly how it felt to me. Have a look and see if your springs are just above but not making contact with the stops.

Never thought about that... Mine does have the overload springs on it. I'll look at that next time I pull the trailer. Thanks!
