2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Frame differences

What is different between a 2500 frame and a 3500 frame? Is there any difference at all?

The frame assemblies for the model year 2000 Ram 2500's & 3500's with identical wheelbases have the same part numbers.

That was kind of my suspicion, it doesn't make sense for them to build two different frames for trucks that are rated so close to each other.
