Sorry if this has been covered, but I'm about searched out on VP's and lift pumps. Has anyone had problems with a frame mounted lift pump (e. g. FASS or Airdog) getting damaged while out hunting, fishing, etc. . where you are actually using the truck like a 4 wheel drive? I'm concerned about scraping the pump or filters right off if I get close to high centering. Thanks much.

I'm using a frame mounted walbro pump. While it's smaller than other setups and doesn't use any extra filters, the basic concern is the same. Bottom line is to make sure that the nothing hangs below the bottom of the frame. If you're really concerned, make a small skidplate. It may be a little more work to mount, but it can certainly be done.
