Does anyone know how much horsepower it would take to twist a crewcab frame? I am wanting to put about 450-500 to the ground, but I have concernes about twisting the frame past its spring back point. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

Unless you have duals and some weight in the bed, the tires will smoke before you do much to the frame. Then you will also have to tie the left side of the engine tighter than the stock mount to load the frame that excessivly. The Crew frame is not as substantial as the 93 club but it isn't flimsy either.

more importantly, it's how it is used. I've heard of guys with stock trucks twisting the frames in 88-89 when they first came out. I. E. company driver revved it before dumping clutch with 10K in the bed.

I agree that the tires will smoke before hurting the frame, and I'll go one further that your truck, and mine (similar project), weigh enough that it'll be only when shifting that the truck will 'surge'. If the frame didn't flex then it'd just break the body mounts, and I think you'll be fine without major reinforcements. I'm not planning to build a subframe or a cage on mine, and just let the frame do its thing. I think it'd require slicks, huge torque, and a monster launch before the chassis will be tweaked.

Good question tho Bob - you're thinking big-league questions and it's good to air those thoughts. I've been wondering similar things about my project too.

Even after rolling my crewcab last week the frame isnt bent so I dont think you have anything to worry about as soon as I figure out how to post all the pictures I will show you all whats left . but at this time I am working on buying a crewcab dually body to swap back on to my frame .

Thanks guys, I will "get R dun" then.

As for the rear tires, yes they are duallys, and they will be 19. 5s.
