2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Frame vin??

I am replacing my frame on my 1998 4wd Ram, and need to find out the location of the Vin number. I know the body has them but did not know the frame has one too, at least thats what the DMV here says. Any one herd of this?

I'm restoring a '54 Ford and it has the VIN stamped on the frame in three places, all of them in locations that can't be seen with the body installed. Since you are getting another frame you just need to do a little searching.
