Frank Simkowski AKA Old School

I am saddened to hear about Frank. . God Bless his family, relatives and friends.

I remember conversing with Frank here in the 1st gen area, but of course now cannot remember his original Handle. . For that I am embarrassed. :( He always was more than willing to help with his experience and great attitude on diesels and life.

Its a sad day for the TDR and I hope we will all take a moment to remember Frank Simkowski.

(edit) Thanks to Tim for refreshing my memory. . ;)

"Old School"

Hey Jason & all TDR Brothers!:(

I find myself sitting here at work today reminiscing about the generosity of "Old School" (aka: Frank Simkowski) back when I was just joining the TDR gang & full of questions. I remember anxiously awaiting a reply from him and his knowledge (& patients) every morning on the First Gen Forum. He spent many hours helping me understand my new truck and gave me vision of what my truck would become because of the exsistance of his pristine ride. He has been most instrumental in my TDR experiences.

So much so that my girlfriend, Carolyn & I made the trip up to see "Old School" and she bought his sweet First gen May of 2000. Former "Old School" First Gen

I asked "Old School" about his handle during this visit..... I inquired if "Old School" refers to his preference of the First Gen/Cummins Trucks... . He said, that actually it had to do with some old Tennis Shoes that he preferred as a young lad learning to surf. Frank was also an avid surfer off the coast of RI where he and his longtime girlfriend, Vandee had just moved a year or so ago.

He will be greatly missed by all... . I find an incredible empty feeling from within today.

God Bless!

I to was heart broken to here about Mr. Simkowski death. He imparted great knowledge on those who were fortunate enough to have been here "in the early days" as Keeno and Jason have stated. He may not jump into every thread, but would drop little hints and directives in his responses to lead a person in the right direction. If directly asked, he would give you good clear advice and suggestions to get the most out of our CTD.

May God watch over him and his family... ... ...

Thank you Keeno...

Just the shock created a mental block that I couldn't overcome. . :(

Thank you for the reminder... Old School

The memory will live on!!!

I too share the saddness of Franks passing. Like most of you, he helped me too. He never made me feel like I was wasting his time with a question that had been asked 100 times before.

This is an example of fine man who took the time to help.

It's worth noting that we need to talk to these fellas as often as possible because one day, we won't be able to. Like now, we have lost a friend, fellow Rammer', and a source of knowledge.

I've personally experienced this too many times as it is.

To Frank's family, my most heartfelt sympathy.

GoodBye Frank,

Respectfully, Bob

Thank you Frank!

Thanks to his information and insight about the first generation trucks, I have become more confident in my own abilities in the tinkering department. The TDR will not be the same with out him.

Thank you Frank,

For some reason I never put Old School and Frank together. He and I talked several times on the computer. He will be missed.

:( Good bye Frank, we'll miss you bud. God bless your family and friends. Although I am fairly new here, you helped me immensly. It seems that every time that we least expect it, god calls one of us home. Our prayers are with you! Tim:(
