I am mounting a frantz filter on a bracket by the battery/turbo side. I would like the filter to be able to drain itself for changes. I know that some people have routed the drain to the top of the oil filler cap (but this being higher, won't drain the filter), and some use a self-tapping bolt in the crankcase pan. Are there any existing fittings on the block/head, lower than the battery height to route the drain line to, so the pan doesn't have to be punctured?

I run a Frantz filter myself. Even with the return hose going to the fill cap (as mine does, via an Amsoil swivel fitting), the oil does drain back thru the inlet fitting when shut off. I have the supply line coming off the extra port on the OEM oil filter housing. All you need to do is, change the TP last, if you are doing a regular oil/filter change, or let the truck sit for 1/2hr or so. Very little oil is left.

The Frantz install kit does include the pan fitting and the punch with the washer to make the hole.

I Also Hava 99 With Franz Bypass Filter With Supply Taped Into Top Of Main Filter Housing. Return Goes To Oil Pan. I Installed A 1/4 Tee At Inlet To Franz And Installed A 1/4 Turn Ball Valve That I Use For Obtaining A Oil Sample For Testing. I Also Installed A Plug Just For Safety. Didn Wont 10 Quarts On The Road. If Eng. Has Been 15 Minutes I Have Never Had A Drop Leak Out When Removing Canister. Hop This Will Help.

In my readers rig pics, got a couple of Frants pics under "Money Sink".

I mounted the filter canister upside down. No worry about draining before changing the filter. :)
