Question on "Core" charges

Yesteday I was working on a buddys truck and we decided to pull mine into the shop when we where done. My buddy was watching the front of my truck so I did not hit the stuff infront of it. So when we get done he askes me what the ugly metal brakets are on the front of my truck... I am at a loss for what he is talking about so I take a look. Ahhh the two ugly metal brackets are where my Light Force off road lights used to be mounted untill some one took them off my truck. Freaking Thieves. The really crappy thing is that when they tore the lights off they just jerked the lights and let the wire break. It broke on the light itself ( I got all the pig tail) so the lights will be worthless to them now, so now I have no lights and they turned the stolen lights into junk. :(

I have vented now..... back to your normal lives now.

That just plain sucks.

Many years ago I had a 74 chevy 4x4 pickup. Some drunk fool rear ended me while I was stopped. It pushed the bed into the rear of the cab messing up the cab (well the bed was toast too). Anyway when fixing the cab I went to the salvage yard and got a cab shell for 100. 00. What a deal. I had removed the old cab and set the new(used) cab on and had it bolted on and everything else hooked backed up. All I had left to do was put the old doors on. I was hungry so I went inside to eat. Came back out put on the passenger door. Went to put on the drivers door and couldnt find it. Some scumbag had taken it while I was inside eating. Dang door from a yard cost me more than the cab and the paint didnt match either (the used cab had the same paint as my truck).

Thanks guys, its not the $$ its just the principal of the thing. I worked hard to buy those lights and now some jerk stole them and broke at least on of the lights while stealing from me... . ugh.

Bob I think I am going to go cheap this time, maybes some boltz.com lights or maybe some Aircraft landing lights. What ever they are the bolts will be tacked with my new welder for sure.

I've got a good one for you. I started a thread last week about purchasing a Charger R/T as a replacement for my wife's dead Intrepid ES (1996).

I deal with a small rural dealership. They did a dealer trade with a Buffalo dealer to get the vehicle we wanted without having to order it.

Well my dealer retrieves the car from Buffalo on Friday. They parked it behind the building near the "prep" bay with the expectation that it would be prep'ed for a Monday delivery.

Some stupid kid (and probably some of his buddies) proceeded to break into the dealership Friday night (Sat. morning) and stole most of the keys for cars on the lot and a couple of set of dealer plates.

They then stole 3 cars, ONE OF WHICH WAS MY CHARGER R/T! Well the kid was pretty stupid and he was caught Saturday afternoon. The cops told the guys at the dealership that the kid confessed to doing 140mph in the R/T Oo. Oo.

The dealer has been great about the situation. My wife refused to continue the transaction, so they did another dealer trade and we will take delivery today. Unfortunately, the dealer will be stuck with the car (once the cops release it). I'm assume the VIN will be flagged on the CarFAX type systems. They will have to discount it significantly to get a buyer.

Generally, I worry about the "youth" of today. They seem to have little to no respect for others and they continue to make really stupid decisions. It is all about the fun and screw the consequences

Man, you really hit the nail on the head there. :(

It's sad indeed... ...

JR2, it may be a small consolation, but because they wrecked them getting them off at least they can't use 'em either! ;)

No that just makes me angry... why did they not just go shop lift some lights from Walmart or something.

We had a kid in town yesterday steal a checy 3500 dually and procede to run from the cops, T-bone a car and kill a father of three, and wreck 16 cars in the process. The kid is 21 and in now in jail and charged with murder, DUI, multiple assult charges and a few more I can not remember now. Stupid kids these days only think about themselves and not the consequences of there actions.

It's not just the youth of today... they have some amazing role models to follow. Most of the problems I've seen in the kids can be directly attributed to bad parenting!

Just to make folks feel a little better, here's a local crime story from DC:

Two days ago, DC Dept of Corrections was transferring prisoners from jail to court for their trials. They do this by bus, and they unload them in an underground parking garage at DC Superior Court. Well, one guy who'd been in trouble before and was to appear on domestic assault charges decided to take a chance, and - fully shackled and in his orange jumpsuit - ducked under the bus and grabbed on. When the bus left the garage, he went along. They got all the way up on I395 when he was either jostled by a pothole or just slipped off - either way he landed on the highway, where he was immediately hit and killed by a commuter bus.

It's not exactly funny (unless you like that sort of thing), but it IS swift justice!
