i would like to know about this 3gsk thing using1/2inch washers?where do i put them?how do i get to where they go?what is the inside, outside diameter of each washer?and the thckness of each washerand how many?and what about the adjustment i hear about?and if its the star wheel it is in the stock place. also what would i gain by moving mytst#5fuel plate all the way forward?thanks

Mine are shimmed. They're working OK and it did what I wanted. The only complaint I have with it is that it doesn't like cruising around 1800rpm. I'm sure that the spring kit would work better but if you're like some of us, you don't have $150 laying around to spend on the truck, but still like the performance. If it doesn't work to suit you take them back out. All you've done is waste your time.

That's the beauty of the 12V's, there's all kinds of things you can do to increase performance that don't cost much, if anything.

I can appreciate that, and I'm glad you've had good luck with yours. I've seen a good amount of negative posts about the free gsk. drivability issues, etc.

fwiw, if you shop around and or talk nice on the phone w/ some of the vendors, you can get a 4k cheaper than $150 ;)

I tried them, didnt like em at all. They didnt work out to well for me.

Besides, like forrest says, 4K's (or 3k's) are so cheap, its kinda not worth it to skimp (IMO).

I run a 3000 RPM gov spring kit and recommend that... our cummins engine starts to make some pretty funky noises at 4000 rotations!

Guys dont discourage a fellow member from bombing his truck!:-laf

No seriously i've had both on my own trucks, and have installed the washers for a few guys as well. . The problem people run into, is that they use the wrong size to begin with, and or they don't know how to adjust them right which causes improper idle and so on. .

If you know how to install the springs, chances are you will be fine installing washers.

Iam not here to debate that the washers are the way to go or such! iam just saying that it can be done to serve the purpose, and to save him a little money so he could start saving for his trans, turbo, injectors... Lets compare the fuel plate issue, Did everybody buy their plate? We have many who cut their own plates. Does this mean that its not going to preform better than stock? Just my $ . 02 _Dave
