2011 - Truck Resolutions Contest (Ends: 01/31/2011)

St. Patrick's Day Gauge Contest (Autometer) - Ends: March 31, 2011

I gave my wife a mirror, told her to look at it, and then gave her a card that said your the best thing that ever reflected light!

The best Valentines gift that I gave was a Valentines Day 2009. I knew I was going to be away from my wife due to Navy Deployment. So I went to Hallmark and got her a small vase that had 3 artificial roses that looked like they were in water plus a musical card with a personalized message after the music. I gave these to her mother with instructions to give them to her on Valentines Day. I was told that my wife started to cry when she heard the message in the card. May sound sappy and corny, but she liked it.

The best advice to the lovelorn you ask eh.....

TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TRUCK AND RUN FAR,FAR AWAY FROM HER!

This way there will be need to have you crying in your spilled milk when all your left with is your truck(or whats left of it) after the divorce!.

Oh wait that was me,sorry and there is a better way to do it and not loose your sanity or property if it does happen... ... .

Its called a Prenuptial agreement, learn it,say it and for your sanity, make sure before the long walk happens you have one drawn up thats air tight and mistake proof... ... . Andy

If I had been drinking there would be some Crown and Ginger on my keyboard!

Hey its a fair split right, 50:50 truck and house. . both worth about the same :D

Romantic dinner and an engagement ring 25 years ago. Best decision I ever made. Yes, even better than buying my trucks!!!

My girlfriends been real lucky in the past I always buy her things she needs... ... snap-on torque wrench, 3rd gen rims! she's a lucky girl:D

My wife died of natural causes a few years ago. I told her friends she "flew the coop". I put her down in the up-right freezer. This way when her pension & Social Security checks come in, I can forge her name to them. It's a win-win situation for the both of us. I drop a ½ dozen Roses in the freezer on her every Valentines Day! :-laf

Well I dont know how or what I did but on friday Feb 11 I made the comment that we (my wife and I ) should take a ride just wanted to get out of the house (cabin fever) well we ended up at the local Dodge dealer ,this was the same dealer were I have bought my 99 & 02 rams and sitting on the lot was a 11 crew dually so I went in and asked for the keys so we could take it for a ride next thing I know the truck is running and then we got the keys NEAT! well down the road we went with both of us enjoing this ride a while later got back to the dealer ,sat in the truck with the sales rep talking said we were just looking . on the way home not much said other than that was a nice truck well on monday Feb 14 I came home with a dozen roses told her the that I loved her she put the roses in a vase then turned around and said I think we should order a Dodge Larime in red well I called the dealer and was asked if I wanted the HO (thus found out about more power) heck yes was my answer ,so the wait is on

A dozen roses, a card (don't go for humorous) and a home made steak dinner. She loves roses and never gets tired of them. Brags them up every year to her friends and sisters. Makes it easy for me... I like a good steak. She even knows I do it all last minute, on the way home.

Well I have it Good one of my hobbies is rose bushes we have over 50 around the house so giving the wife flower's is as simple as walking into the front yard and cliping some I guess having a good memory comes in handy I dont forget special dates and I am also good with remembering number's comes in handy at times best gift I have given is a surprize of 2 dozen roses sent to work and delivered by her teacher from a floral class she had at the local college everyone went Wow and I just smiled :) Best advise I can give is don't allway think of yourself first as the saying goes it takes 2 to Tango :)

Flowers delivered by me to her office accompanied with a cup of Starbucks for her & her bestie! It worked, what can I say?

I agree with the flowers to her place of business, my wife works with several other females, all married, except one.

Every holiday or Birthday, or just because I feel like it, I either send or deliver flowers to my wife. My wife's co-worker's husbands are almost always "absent", it's sad to hear my wife tell about the "girls" waiting on Valentines Day, wondering outloud what their husbands will get them, especially as the day wears on and nothing is showing up, and then the end of the day, nothing... .

My wife sits in the back of the office, so her flowers get paraded past the girls, she always thankful for the thought...

I'm not a flowers type of guy, I just feel they are a waste of money. Fortuneately, my wife feels the same way. Unfortuneatly, she loves jewelry, so I tell her to pick out what she wants and I'll get it for her. She gets a couple months of enjoyment watching the QVC and HSN channels trying to decide what she wants for Valentines day. Then we top it off with a night out, dinner and a movie. Been married 36 years.

Just Because

I have found that buying a gift, just because (I love her) on days that were not otherwise special have always been particularly appreciated. She likes my not being totally predictable. This is not to forget days like Valentines Day but to do something special on other days.

Too Funny

OK, I just read all of posts, and I am grinning at some of the responses. The bottom line is the right thing to do is what works best for the two of you, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Overall, I give the group a pretty good grade here.

The winner was selected by a computer-generated random number generator (doesn't that sound fun . . . ).

First place goes to post #7 - JHawes - winner of a new FASS pump! Yeah!

Runner Up (complimentary renewal) goes to post #44 - Hammer - Now Hammer, use that $35 for some stress-reduction classes - you seem to be just a bit tense over the whole romance thing . . . .

Runner Up (complimentary renewal) goes to post #54 - JJPage.

And the crowd cheered for all of you!

Yea!

What a terrific way to end the day that started out with me Growling at the world.

I owe a huge THANKYOU to TDR and GENO'S GARAGE!!
