Yup... ... that's right..... another one bites the dust. I'm looking into options right now I may even try and rebuild it but I'll have to wait untill I pull it out to see.



So if I switch to a NV4500 can I use the NV4500 bellhousing or do I need one from a kit?



Should I still buy the kit from Quad 4x4 or Precsion Gear if I get the bellhousing from the other truck?



How much is the Getrag worth if I fix it? How much if I dont?

well... it depends, if you want to fix the trans once then get a NV4500 and want to spend money on other things

But if you need the truck now and are tight money and can fix it later i would suggest going and fixin' the getrag (depending on how much damage done) my trans after 1000$ i found it not fixable so... . PULL IT ALL APART if u think it can be fixed. i am still undecided about were to get the bell housing but i do suggest that u get the kit. this will save u a large head ache and will be cheaper. these kits let u use the old cylinder, clutch, throw out bearing and other things.....

I would go with a NV4500. I had my getrag rebuilt and is making all kinds of sounds. Just waiting for it to go out to replace with a NV4500
