I just pulled off my muffler for good when I went to complete 3 1/2" pipe. So, if anybody wants it they can have it. My truck is a 4x4 and it still has the straight section to go around the transfer case. ether case its free.

I absolutely love it! I can't here it with the windows rolled up[being winter and all] but when I go next to a building or car it sounds great. And I checked with my neighbors and they said it's not much louder than before.

I don't know why I didn't do it a long time ago.

Cool

Last weekend, I was under my truck greasing it, and was going over the exhaust and looked at how badly crushed the section over the rear axle was. Decided it was time to whack it off just behind the muffler. I had a 3" turndown and put it on the end to divert the heat away from the axle. Now the turbo spools up noticeably quicker and there seems to be less smoke when I accelerate from low RPM. The previous owner had already put a "performance" muffler on it (looks like a BIG Flowmaster). Has "Flow Pro" or "Pro FLow" stamped on it, can't remember which.

Next comes a Walker tailpipe, loose the muffler and fill in with straight pipe. The Walker pipe is $53 at NAPA. I'm thinking it will be best to get the end of the pipe all the way back there again.

Looking forward to the sound. When I got the truck, it had an exhaust leak at the end of the down pipe, and I kind of miss the sound it had. ;)

You can get the Walker tailpipe for about $45 through Summit. I ordered it a couple of weeks ago and it is in my garage waiting for install. In a word I am impressed! Very nice piece of pipe and darn near mandrel bent as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the info. Never thought of Summit. Haven't ordered from them in a long time, so I don't get their catalog any more. Have some old ones though.

Just thought of something - does your new pipe have a tab to mount to the stock hanger at the end of the pipe? If not, I can just make and weld on a tab.

Thanks again. :D

Yeah I tend to get most my stuff through Summit Racing. I have found over the years that thier prices are nearly always the best and thier customer service is excellent as well. Besides we have relatives in Reno that we visit every year so while I am there I always go down and check out thier Nevada store/showroom. Talk about a kid in a candy store!

Anyway, the Summit part number is WLK-45105. However, I forgot that they charge an extra $5 for shipping on this item. So Summit plus shipping versus your local NAPA plus tax is probably going to be a wash. Yes it does have the rear exhaust hanger tab brazed on and it looks like it should line up with the stock hanger well. Still trying to find time to get mine done!

Again you would be very hard pressed to a get a pipe made at a local shop that it is this nice. And for sure not nearly as cheap. Oo.

Hey KMC!

I believe the Walker Tailpipes are truely mandrel bent. This is the same tailpipe used by Ted Jannetty in his 3" kit... . He custom bends the transfer case pipe (if req'd) and purchases the tailpipe & muffler directly from Walker.

At least that's what the man told me... Good stuff indeed!:)
