Free Music Downloads ?

When I got this new laptop I received a MP3 Player with it and being the nice guy I am I need to download some C/W stuff on it for the G/F prior to giving it to her. I'm new at this stuff so I was looking for some direction were to find downloads at?

I have about 50 Gigs worth, too bad your not closer.

Just tune into an internet radio station and use a stream recorder to 'make a backup copy'.



I have had good luck with Winamp's player and Shoutcast streaming audio stuff. I also have used a little Winamp plugin called Stream Ripper... just to see if it works, of course. Stream Ripper creates . mp3's matching the bitrate of the stream and each song has the proper artist/title information... if you set it up correctly.



It's not perfect, and the songs can often be chopped at the beginning/end due to crossfades and station ID's. But, what do you expect for free?

I've had good luck with Limewire... .



My recommendations..... don't allow anyone to upload from you. As soon as you recieve the song, move it to another folder. Don't leave anything in the shared folder.



From what I have been told, that is what the feds look for. There is some loophole, you can download, but not allow anyone to share from you. Donno all the details, but that's what I do.
