Where I bought my truck, the dealer does ALL the routine maintance per schudle A in the owners manual. So I can get my oil & filter changed every 6000 miles free.

I have been changing it every 3000 & take it to them every 6000.

NOW, my question is... ... ..... They use Mopar 15-40 oil, and I have been buying it from the Dealer for about 25% off list. Still kinda expensive! I hate to use different oils between changes. e. g. The dealer using Mopar oil & me using Rotella or something else.

Should I continue just buying the factory Mopar oil (which isn't that expensive with the discount). Or would you guys just mix oil between changes, with whatever is on sale:eek:

I would not mix oil... although I can't really say its wrong to do, it just makes the hairs on my neck stand up.

There is always a little bit of oil left in your engine when you change it. In the oil pan, on top of rocker arms, etc. I will ask you a question that may help in your decision...

Would you use 10 qts of mopar oil and one quart of rotella? If not, don't rotate your oil brands.
