My wife and I are looking for a Frostless Upright. We saw in Sundays paper that Conn's has a sale going on now. I saw one brand I had never heard of called "Woods". Called Conn's just now to ask them about it. The salesman or whoever he was said that all freezers are either made by woods or frigidaire. Even if there is another brand on it, it is still made by frigidaire or woods. Anyone ever heard this before?

We heard the same thing when we were looking for a freezer last year. We ended up buying a Frigidaire brand "commercial" grade upright freezer from Best Buy. The "commercial" grade freezers have an oil-cooled compressor which is better when the freezer is used in a garage application.

I heard on a talk show recently that newer fridgerators, maybe freezers, had a new "energy saving" feature that would shut of the compressor with ambient temps below 60 or so. The caller said they lost all the produce by not knowing this when a new unit was placed in the garage. Just heresay, you might check it out.
