I'm on DSL again.

Stroll down memory lane....

Anyone out there got one as part of their EMS equipment ? The Ford's that we have been buying just don't hold up, mainly the front ends. (F-450),so were considering the Freightliner w/ mer. motor. Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks, Mike

We have a E450 van cutaway for our Ambulance (Horton) and it has worked out OK. (It is a powerstroke... )

I have heard that some of the Freightliners have had to go in for service more often than expected. My Fire dept is a big fan of International and when we made a comparison to the Freightliners we found the components of the freightliners were wearing out faster. This we found by comparing Fire dept's that had both and either.

I personally like them for the Cummins motor which has had NO maintanence issues. ;)

We have a 95 E-one that we converted into a sqaud truck (our ambo's run on a 5 year rotation) a 1997 quigley/horton (POS, front end LITERALLY has fallen apart twice, 4wd conversion is nowhere near heavy enough) and a 2002 ford horton, unfortunately all PSDs :(

Everyone has begun to talk about what will come next, and it may be an FL to replace the 4wd turd, we'll see...

We have 2 Fords, actually, thats all we ever had,all have been Honton box's,and we have had good luck w/all of them . To bad Dodge don't get into the business. the FL were looking at is the M2 cab, just about everyone likes that style. Thanks for all the replies. Mike

I went to Houston TX when we picked up our two new Ford PPSD's with Frazier boxes. I asked the owner of Frazier why they did not run Dodges and his answer was the the frame height is too high and you cannot get the stretcher in the back.
