Would any of these work?? A friend of mine that works for Freightliner said he could get me one for around 40$, much cheaper than 135$ or 150$

They will work just fine. Make sure the $40 price is for both the gauge and thermocouple. I'm running a Caterpillar pyro in my 3500 that I picked up new surplus for $15, working great for 6 years. Surplus Center in Nebraska, 800-488-3407 sometimes has new surplus pyros and other goodies for insanely cheap prices. Ask for a catalog, you will get nowhere on the phone. No internet sales.

Thank ya illflem, I figured they would be just fine. Do you know if the thermocouple is the same as the ones you would get from tst or piers? Do you think a hardware store would have the parts if it comes with only a probe and wire?

SL, if it comes with only a probe and wire you're not getting the whole thing. The gauge part is the heart of the system and the most expensive component. The gauge itself is really a milli-volt meter, not a common hardware store item.

SLewis, have your buddy price you an ISP R605FL6. That is a 2"

black face Isspro gauge with a 6' lead and thermocouple. Sounds like he priced you an ISP R650 which is replacement thermocouple only. Used this kit on mine and will work just fine. Lead is perfect length to use in center hole of three gauge piller mount without excess lead wire. I mounted thermocouple in manifold and where it is for a large truck, the probe is fairly long.

Used a 1/4" pipe nipple and coupler to make depth enough in manifold and it works great. Went with truck style 'cause did not

like idea of probe breaking off and slamming into hot wheel of turbo. :--)

Don't laugh!!!! This is what a Freightliner pyro looks like in a custom made red oak and black walnut mount. I bought the ISSPRO off of ebay for $25. 00 and then I called ISSPRO and got the thermocoupler and wires.
