How many cans of freon do I need to recharge a completely dry system

Probably two,my06 holds thirty two ounces. Bg

My book calls for 1.875 lbs. It will depend on the size of the cans you buy to determine how many you will need.
If the system has been open to atmosphere it needs to have a vacuum placed on the system to draw the moisture out or the moisture will condensate when the low side gets cold and can partially restrict the orifice tube/expansion valve. Moisture in the refrigerant can also turn acidic and is corrosive to the metal internals of your system.

The factory calls for 32 oz,there should also be a label on your core support with the spec
