Big Dodge 2003 2500 4X4, 114k Looking to replace the Fresh Air filter. where is the secret compartment? Gary, lost in the tool box... ... ... ...

OK, I can handle that. Do you know how we would get rid of any smells that accumulate thru the seasons. Gary

I don't recall what it is, but there is a procedure to clean/disenfect the a/c ducts.

Mine smelled, but I have found if I turn the a/c off a few blocks from the house it doesn't smell as often.

Get a can of your favorite scent of Lysol, spray some in the cabin air intake at the rear of the hood while the engine is on and A/C is running with the blower on high. I only use a small amount, I've heard of people using a whole can or more. The Lysol will kill most of the boogers that create the smell, lasts for one to three months. I like the linen scent, but you pick your own. The scent will stay for a few days, longer if you use a lot.

Somebody (Geno's?) sells an air filter that you mount outside on top of the air intake, but I don't think that will help given that the smells usually come from inside. It might help in the future if it keeps dust, pollen and other nasties out of the system.

i use spori-clean it's a enzyme cleaner. kills mold/mildew that grows in the ducts, when the system isn't allowed to warm up prior to shutdown.

Make sure the condensate drain is not plugged. Is there a puddle under your truck after you shut it off? If it is plugged, use compressed air to clean it.
