Won't stay lit goin down the highway, covered the bottom vent of the three and it cured the problem. Any thoughts on a more permanent fix, I've never had this problem before. Thanks
Tap the exhaust stack and to make sure the soot is not falling down and putting out the flame. Check for blue flame without any yellow around the edge. Vacuum up the burner area and make sure all the tin work is in place. Just a couple of suggestions...
Thanks for the info, it's brand new and the tin cover over the flame was pulled away from the box for some reason. I put it back, but it still blew out at highway speeds. I'll check out the site, thanks.
I had the same problem on several trailers the most recent being an Airstream. I tried many suggestions such as new electronics, furnace filter over the door louvers, cleaning vent stacks. The final fix for me was to wrap the flame guards with foil. I have logged several major trips 20k miles or so and no more flameouts. The unit also works better. I guess if I'd keep my road speed down it might be better but that's no fun when your truck wants to go.
