Anyone know this truck in So. Calif?

Hey guys,

A buddy of mine just bought a 2001 4X, Red 4 door Extended cab in Costa Mesa Calif. The reason for the post is I noticed a TDR sticker at the hitch area. I thought maybe someone could tell me more about my friends purchase. This truck has CA. plates 7L57145 with a vin of 1B7KF23671J288534. Someone installed a Van Aiken (spelling?) box on it. The truck has 48820 miles. In August of 06 I think the seller lived in San Diego. Originally the truck was from Arizona.

If you know the truck and info on the mods or whatever, we would appreciate it.

Thanks

Steve

OHHh! I thought you bought it off some guy. Terribly sorry!

Please ignore the confused person.

Well, now he is having what I believe to be fuel problems. It is missing under a slight load and getting worse. His lift pump does not show any fuel preasure. The old pump he took off had three wires to it. 2 red and 1 black. He said that one of the red wires was with the black on the neg. side. Im not sure why the three wires, mine only has 2. So now he is trying to trouble shoot it. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

Hey Bob,

Yea, I can get a pic but maybe not soon enough. He needs his truck this weekend and Im tied up until friday. Ill see what I can do.

Thanks

He towed his truck in to the Dodge dealer and got a bill for $2,000. 00+ to replace the Injector pump. He is disturbed about buying a truck and having to drop money into right away. Before he purchased a truck I told him to not buy a truck with any mods on it. Buy bone stock. This truck has some sort of box for the fuel management. Van AAken something.

Hopefully when fixed it will be a good truck for him.

dont think it was the mods that killed it. im sure it was a bad lift pump that went unnoticed that killed it. he needs to get a fuel pressure gauge on it after the fix
