A/C Problems...

Anyone know much about this Friends and Family discount? I've got a cousin who works at the plant in St Louis and she said that it is 1% under invoice. The problem is this, If I use the F & F number, my dealer tells me the Farm Bureau rebate ($500) can't be used. But, I have a buddy that just bought an 04. 5 and he says he got the F & F discount and Farm Bureau. So who is telling the truth? I have a tendency to believe the dealers, as I have talked to 3 different ones, plus my buddy likes to exaggerate sometimes especially to make it sound like he got the best deal anyone could possibly get. So, as I see it, I can either save about $400 with F & F or save $500 with the rebate. Anyone having this experience?

ASK your cousin to get you an "EC" number, that would be nice

I just asked the same question. My grandfather retired from Chrysler. He used to call it the X plan. I guess the name changed. My parents buy all vehicles with the plan. Granddad once told me that the percent off varies with the model. I know my parents saved a ton on the last mini van they bought. I want to know what the savings would be on a 2500 though.

1% under invoice isn't hardly anything. After rebates and discounts you should be able to get a much better deal than the F and F plan. You should be able to hit up the dealer for between 8 and 10k off MSRP

Whether you buy on F&F or EP (Employee Price) or pay MSRP or something in between, you get all the rebates. I bought on EP. On my '04 2500, it was 4. 8% under invoice, and I got the $2500 rebate plus a $500 Holiday rebate. I've previously bought on F&F & gotten rebates.

Well, let me clarify. The Dealers I had talked to all had told me that if we did the F & F we could still get the regional rebates (i. e. $1000, $2500 or whatever they are at the time), but we couldn't use the Farm Bureau rebate. I'm wondering, why should the Farm Bureau rebate be any different?

You might be right on the Farm Bureau deal

You might be right on the Farm Bureau deal, but I do remember that you could also get that discount in the past. Like tomeygun said, see if you can use her "Employee Choice" discount. The Employee Choice discount allows employees to give one of their employee discounts to somebody other than their immediate family. I believe the discount is more like 3-4% below factory invoice. An employee can price a new vehicle on-line, and factor in the discount to see what the bottom line is to see which is the better deal.

I just went through this on my 04. 5 truck. I went through the business link office at my dealer. I had a F&F number and everything. They told me I could use the Farm Bureu rebate (and I did) but that I would not be able to use the Business Link $300 rebate and the Farm Bureu rebate. So I got the F&F price (which is something they admitted they would give to a non F&F person if they were good hagglers) and I got the $2. 5K rebate and the Farm Bureu rebate. The funny part is that they never asked for my F&F number!!

I could not use the Farm Bureu rebate if I purchased out of state, however.

Hope this helps
