I don't know what the hell happened to Don M but I decided to go from Amsoil back to Rotella before those threads even started.



My Amsoil has 16000 miles on it and I just don't like how black it is. I think it is the EZ on #3 that is giving me the smoke to make the soot. It don't seem to make any smoke to amount to anything since I installed the BHAF. But that don't matter, I have bought the Rotella and I am going to change it.



My son has the twin to my truck and his is not black at 5000 miles when he changes it, but it is stock. So its not the Amsoil, I am just not going to go for the extended drains.



I miss Don M's posts.

I don't like Dons opinion of Amsiol or his reasoning behind some of his conclusions, but he pays for the right to be here and if you don't like it don't read it.



He should be reinstated NOW. He feels strongly about the subject and it is tiring at times. He is also big into 12v performance and seems to help a lot of folks. If you talk about anything other than oil he's fun to kid around with. I've seen nothing to warrant action in recent weeks. I went and looked at his posts and I wasn't offended at all.



Bring him back ADMIN!!!

I've made this request several times now, if you want to know what happened with DonM you need to contact him directly. We are not going to discuss actions taken against any user here on the forums. Yet again assumptions are being made here that Don has been banned from the board and that is not the case. If, once you contact Don and find out what happened, you still have questions then email me directly at -- email address removed -- . BTW, you can PM Don now - we created a new user group that would allow him to receive his PM's.



Ramboy - 3 other users that were involved in this situation got emails on this as well. The 4 primary people involve got 3 different emails dependant on the level of their involvement in continuing the bickering over this.



This had nothing to do with Amsoil per say. It was a matter of there being over 700 posts in 9 threads in 30 days beating into people a few concerns over a product. Initially there was a lot of good information. It changed over to needless bickering somewhere between the beginning and where it was cut off. I personally received over 100 emails requesting that we put a stop to it - I have never received that many complaint emails over a topic in the entire time I've been moderating the site. Many of those emails mention them leaving the site over this - and many of those specifically mention they do not nor do they plan to use Amsoil. The TDR management had to make a decision whether to let 4 users continue bickering and lose a bunch of members, or to put a stop to it and possibly lose a few over those actions. We tried several things to shut it down and kept escalating our actions until we were successful. The points were made in those posts and I can guarantee that every person on the site is now well aware of peoples concerns.

I would like to comment on this. I dont know who Don M is and he does not know me. It seems to me that there has been alot of crying and whining recently on this website. I dont know about anyone else but when I log on to this site and go to the 12 valve section, I DONT HAVE TO READ WHAT I DONT WANT TO. I can pass topics that dont concern me were people are :-{} and then read what i want too. People, you are NOT required to read all posts. If DonM and the amsoil guys duke it out for 30 days WHO CARES?? Nothing against you guys but if you want to argue oil then do it. If i have an overflow valve problem, I dont have to read an Amsoil post to find overflow valve answers. I usually dont get involved in issues like these but I just got suspended for 30 days because of a picture I posted that "someone" on this site complained about. The picture was of a woman lifting up her shirt with a funny caption underneath,not vulgar IMO but I was suspended and feel it was BS. Maybe some of the guys who complained about DonM should quit the site instead of :{ :{ about posts and the good guys on the site stop coming back. I guess all the transmission guys are going to get suspended next because that topic is hotter than amsoil.

I didn't know about this oil hassle because I made my mind up about oil quite some time ago and was not interested. I contacted Don M. I also read all the threads involved in the row including the ones on the Ford site. I also read all the things referred to in his and other posts in those threads. Don was not the sinner, he was the victim. Bring him back with no restrictions.



BTW aren't dealers and vendors required to have that information in their signature?

Don M is a good guy. He has very willingly helped me out and been very generous. I dont agree with with his oil views so who cares. Dont read the posts if it bugs you. I didnt like all the crabbing some of them were doing either so I quit reading it, very simple. Live and let live.

Don M and I have exchanged mods for quite some time, we have had many, many PMs to one another. As I had said in Many treads Don M is my Bud, we didn't agree on AmsOil but we made peace about that. We Agreed to Diagree, just as Joe Donnelly and I had on running AmsOil in the NV4500. From the threads here on TDR I didn't see anything that Don M did, said, or inferred that other's hadn't. It seems that Don M is the only one that still isn't (able to)posting here. Other's have gotten nicer probibly due to the threat of losing what Don M has lost.



I miss Don M, his post(most of them). He was always right there to help. Some days I don't know how he got anything done because he had to have been on the TDR all day looking at his post times.



TDR Moderator, It really looks funny that the Anti guy is no longer here and the Pro guys still are. Maybe this is because Don M wouldn't conform to your demands like others have, his nonconformance(sp) and helpful attitude was a real asset to the TDR!!!!!



I urge you to reconcider your position and

Give Don M his posting privilages back!!!

As Joe Friday said, "Just the facts... ". May I politely request that you gather the pertinent facts before continuing this thread? I don't know what was done or the reasons that lead to it; it isn't my business. But if I were to be nosy, I would email Don and ask him what was done. Then I would email Steve for any other parts of the story.



If you wish to express support for TDR, or for Don, or for TDR readers in general, do so. But please don't turn this into a polemic argument replete with ad hominem attacks on each other.



Remember the reason for these fora: to educate, inform and share in a positive, reinforcing manner. This thread is showing some signs of degenerating into a slug fest, which will cast a dark shadow on the whole site.



Please: arm yourselves with the facts, then post your questions and concerns.
