I just retired my 98.5 Ram 2500 Quadcab 5.9 with 400,000 miles on the clock. Yesterday I purchased a 2017 Ram 3500 Bighorn 6.7 CCLB 4x4. Amazing truck, but I know almost nothing about it. Is there anything I should know about the 6.7 /Aisin, or this specific platform/chassis? Is it safe to use Diesel Service additive for antifreeze in this truck? (I am at 9830 feet in NM) Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

PS-What axles are used on this truck? Thx!

I would recommend Diesel POWER since it is approved and recommended by Cummins. Personally I used Howes for about 35 years in Cummins and Cat motors no problems and no gelling.

Congratulations, I also just retired my ‘99 2500 2x4 quad cab, 5 speed, with over 300,000 miles for a new 2017 3500 4x4 Laramie with the Aisin trans and 3.42 diff.
Owners manual recommends towing at 50 mph for the first 500 miles to break-in the rear end. We drove at 55 through California and Arizona for the first day, now cruising at 70-75. Love the tow haul mode with exhaust brake combo.

Been working my way through the manual all week. Brought it home last Sunday. I drove it home from ABQ about 170 miles running 75 for the first 40 miles. Last 130 miles around 55/65. Been driving short distances all week in the little mountain valley I live in. 35/45 mph. Several short trips each day. I'm a contractor running between job sites. Today I went to Lowes 80 miles south running 55/65 the whole way down and back. No other choice in this area but to take it easy, because of the high altitude twisty roads. I absolutely love this truck! I am taking it in for a precautionary oil/filter change next Friday to flush any mill flashings or chip out of the engine just to be safe. Better safe than sorry. I figure a $100 oil change is worth it to ensure the longevity of a $9200 engine.
