From Amsoil to Rotella? Problems?

My dad borrow my 97 and did me a favor. He noticed it was due for an oil change and he did the change with Shell Rotella I use in my 99. It had been running Series 3000 Diesel 5 w 30 Amsoil.



Any problems going back to Rotella? He hasn't driven it yet, but I hate to drain out 11 quarts of new Rotella if its not a problem. I had heard in the old days that when you changed to synthetic, you were stuck with that for life, but I don't know if that was an old wives tale or what. Another factor is my local Amsoil dealer doesn't have any of the 3000 5 w 30, so it would be laid up in the garage for a week until that gets in.

According to the Amsoil website, Amsoil can be mixed with conventional oil. I've swithed back and forth a couple of times in mine. Still not sure what I'm going to stick with, probably Delo 400.
