So You are Bored and have 1100 Hp and a set of slicks ... Now what?

Bumper Stickers, Seen any good ones?

My Dad has a 79 Ford F-150 4X4 and wants to convert the Manual to a C-6 Automatic. What can I expect and what will be needed to do the swap. The truck currently has a Borg Warner T-18 4 speed and a NP 205 T-case..... part-time. Oh yeah, it is the 8" extension housing between the transmission and the T-case. Help... ... .

Sure it can be done. In fact, we went the other way from an auto to a stick on a 77½. We had a donor truck of about the same year for parts though. We changed out the pedals, steering column, floor hump, transmission, transfer case, and the drivshafts. It took a couple of weekends, but it turned out really good.

Well if you have a donor then it is no prob. But the problem I am having is there are two different lenghts on the output shaft of the trannies. Which one do I need. And also if I have to get a transfer case then it isn't worth the money. Just want the swap the transmission and possibly the steering column and redo the drivelines. :)
