question on ordering parts

One Light Bulb at a Time

A physics teacher in high school, once told the

students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't

slow a train very much, a billion of them would. With that thought

in mind, read the following, obviously written by a good American ...

Good idea . . . . one light bulb at a time . . . . .

Check this out . I can verify this because I was in Lowe's the other day for

some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose

attachments. They were all made in China . The next day I was in Ace

Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose

attachments there. They were made in USA . Start looking ...

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects

someone else - even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this

lady is on the right track. Let's get behind her!

My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is marked

made in Mexico now. I do not buy it any more.

My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico ... now

I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything ...

This past weekend I was at Kroger. I needed 60 W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets. I

was

in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand

labeled, "Everyday Value. " I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the

stats -

they were the same except for the price. .

The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the

thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO

and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in

a company in Cleveland , Ohio .

So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that

are made right here. .

So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets... . yep, you guessed it,

Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada . The Everyday Value

brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday

and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using

for years and at almost half the price!

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for

everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA - the

job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so

we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying

from overseas companies!

(We should have awakened a decade ago)

Let's get with the program..... help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more

jobs here in the USA

just a quick reply... not all Hershey's candy was moved to Mexico. I know for sure that York patties are, and I know for sure that Reese's Cups are still in PA. I believe that Kisses and plain Hershey bars are still in PA too. I used to LOVE York patties...

it IS unfortunate, but it isn't anything new... check The History of Hershey - The Hershey Company

BigEasy beat me to it on Hershey. I have a Hershey's jumbo Dark Chocolate bar and two different large Extra Dark bars here in my desk and all are made in PA.

Colgate toothbrush Made in China.

Oral-B toothbrush Made in the USA.

I mentioned that to my dentist after he gave me a Colgate and he switched back to Oral-B.

Did you know the toothbrush was invented by an 84 year old man in the Arkansas Ozarks? Otherwise it would be called a teethbrush... Badda-Bing.

Made right here in Iowa City. So are many Proctor and Gamble products. I believe they own Oral-B.

And if you read closer you will find you are being poisoned also.

Killer ingrediant is Floride

Then read further and it says to not swallow as it can be dangerous.

Floride is the same chemical put in pesticides and insecticides, so why would you want to brush your teeth with it?

Or drink the public water supply that is contaminated with it.

So doing your research needs to continue even further than just where it is made.

Try finding food on supermarket shelves or resteraunts that contain no GMO products... ... ... . Its getting harder all the time. #@$%!

Eugenics at its best. Why do you think the USA birth rates have fallen drastically in the last couple decades cancer and other ilnesses have risen drastically ect?

I've been checking items ( bought one) from a ACE Hardware store and they do carry products made in China.

I carry one "Garlic", I Think the Chinese invented it ;). Besides California (Kosifornia as some members call it) was getting a little greedy because they were the only ones in the USA that grew it. (I sell other out of the country produce when they are not available in the USA. )

I have noticed that about garlic! I was DISGUSTED when I made my last spaghetti sauce and was adding my spices. Everything with garlic (garlic powder, minced garlic, sliced garlic) said "product of CHINA" on it! Even the generic store brands say that! Time to plant some garlic in the garden!

I am ALWAYS one to look, but overlooked the garlic. Who the hell would have thunk it?!

I buy USA made products every chance I can. When I have no choice, I try my best to avoid chinese made JUNK and at least support countries that are our allies or friendly to us. If we do not support our country, who will?

Grow your own garlic. It is super easy and takes almost no space. Plus you can eat every part of the plant except the little hairy roots at the bottom of the bulb.

Good thread Missouri Mule. I sometimes raise a fuss in a store when all I can find are imports. That last happened in academy sports. All I could find was junk.
BILLVO, tell us more about this Fluoride,,,H2sif6. Hydrofluosilic acid.
I worked inside a water treatment plant for over 31 years and have had liquid and dry fluoride on my skin and I'm still here. Sure it's not safe in the concentrated form, but that goes for all chemicles. Eat a cup of Nacl (table salt) and tell us what happenes.
Lord knows we have enough problems in this country without drawing attention to our life blood. WATER !! Believe me, if something goes wrong at a water plant the media jumps on us like flies on sheet. In 31 years I have only recieved two "thank you" for my work. There will be news in the future concerning drinking water regulations. Get ready for the rates to increase thanks to the EPA.

Thats why you buy Gilroy garlic. Oh wait, thats grown in Gilroy, near Monteray, and harvested by mexicans. Get over it folks its a global economy and products are made where the labor costs are the lowest. No amount of wishing or buying 1. 10 lightbulbs is going to change that fact. What is going to change it is that (if we dont get lazy or greedy) Americans are sitll the most productive folks on the planet. We produce the largest amount of GDP per capita of any country in the world. When labor in china gets expensive (and it is climbing fast) jobs will go where producers get the most for there money and thats here.
